Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"The food is delicious and fresh, presented in a simple but appetizing way. I was here last year and decided to make it my last Mexican meal also this year, did not regret it. Staff is also very nice."
"Don't skip! Yes there are a lot of tacos available in playa However, the quality and value here is unmatched. The service is typical for the area so you may feel it is at a slower pace that used to. Tke your time and enjoy the food, street, and people. Great price your able to fix your tacos how you like.. and it is delicious!"
"The best pastor tacos in Playa Hands Down! Generous portions, tasty tortillas, great salsa and customer service. A great slice of of local vibes in the heart of Playa Del Carmen."
"Fabulous taco spot on 4th street about a block up from 5th. The tacos are full of flavor, though a bit salty at first. The accompanying tray of sauces and additions to add to the tacos is soooo fresh! I also had a margarita that was actually strong. That’s pretty rare here. The tacos are misleadingly tiny when the bring them out. At first I was disappointed at the size but as I ate them, I realized that they are FULL of meat and that 4 was plenty. I left very full and happy. I’ll definitely be returning."
"I stopped in here for tacos and was really impressed — especially with the al pastor. The meat was flavorful, tender, and had just the right amount of seasoning. What really took it to the next level was the pineapple — it added a fresh, slightly sweet bite that made every taco taste amazing. Great spot, great view, and totally worth a visit if you’re craving tacos!"
"What's great about this place is that it is on a small side street off of Quintas Avenue and the prices are a fraction of what you would pay at one of the tourist traps just one block away, and you can have truly authentic and non-pretentious experience. Our group of four had an assortment of dishes, starting with the guacamole which was generously portioned, fresh and delicious. For our main courses, we had tacos (vegetarian, el pastor), quesadillas (chicken, arrachera), and the gringa (arrachera). The mains came with a bowl of sauces and toppings which were vibrant and added a lot of depth of flavour (don't miss out on adding pineapple to the meat dishes, it was a real delight!). We really loved the freshly homemade black corn tortilla shells served with the tacos. Overall the prices were unbeatable (around 700 MXN pesos for four people including drinks and tips). Our only minor issue was the service, which was a little slow, though our server was very kind and helpful."
"The worker was extremely kind and the tacos are also soooooo marvelous. Those were the best tacos that I’ve ever had in Playa del carmen. I loved the tortilla and also the beef. I think the sauces and the tortilla are hand-made because they were also so good."
"Convenient and affordable little spot. We sat at a table outside and had the steak, Al pastor, and chorizo tacos, and a quesadilla with chicken. Everything was great and we love the salsa, onions, lime, cilantro they give you to put on your tacos. The service was awesome too."
